A Texas man was charged with attempted capital murder this week after police found him and his 8-year-old son hanging from a staircase baluster.
McKinney Police officers were sent to the home, where Kendall Thigpen-Watkins, 32, was threatening to kill himself and his son, the Dallas Morning News reported.
“Our officers immediately cut the rope and provided life-saving measures to both Thigpen-Watkins and the child,” a police statement said.
Thigpen-Watkins and the boy were taken to a hospital. Police said on Friday the child had been released.
