A young man is accused of shooting his girlfriend’s father in an argument over “inappropriate” social media posts. Deputies in Broward County, Florida, claim that Lawan Jones, 18, fled the scene with the victim’s daughter, but he later surrendered, and the girlfriend is safe.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded on Monday at approximately 4:44 p.m. to a shooting call near the 1500 block of Northeast 28th Street. They found the victim, Keith Bryan Poole, 44, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

“On scene, emergency crews located the victim, Poole, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” they said. “Paramedics transported Poole to Broward Health North, where he was later pronounced deceased.”

Investigators allege that this stemmed over Jones allegedly writing social media posts that Poole disliked. They did not detail the nature of these posts or explain how the argument allegedly escalated to murder.
