    Adiah Roberson and Daniel Shrewsbury

Left: Adiah Roberson (San Antonio Police Department). Right: Daniel Shrewsbury (M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home).

The U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old girl more than three months after she allegedly shot and killed a Sonic Drive-In manager when she tried to pay for food with counterfeit money.

Adiah Namir Roberson was arrested in Dallas. She’s accused of shooting 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury to death on July 7 at a Sonic location in San Antonio. Cops say Roberson, 28-year-old Joshua Albert Joseph and a woman went to the fast food joint in northwest San Antonio shortly after 9:30 p.m.

When the group allegedly tried to use fake money, Shrewsbury, the manager, confronted them. Eventually the group used real cash to buy food, but then they took money from a cup. Shrewsbury followed them out as they were leaving to take a photo of their license plate. Joseph, who was driving, became upset and told Shrewsbury he was about to get shot. That’s when Roberson allegedly took out a gun and shot the manager dead.

The suspects fled the scene. Cops issued an arrest warrant on murder and forgery of a government document charges for Joseph and Roberson on July 16. Marshals arrested Joseph a month later. The Texas Department of Public Safety placed Roberson on its top 10 “Most Wanted” list.

“I apologize for the actions of somebody who happened to be with me, and none of that should have happened,” Joseph told reporters after his arrest. “That person made a decision they shouldn’t have made.”

Police say the second woman in the group is just a witness at this point. Cops didn’t say how they tracked Roberson to Dallas.

Shrewsbury’s mother Peggy Cofield wrote on her son’s obituary tribute page that he loved his job as a Sonic manager and enjoyed his employees as well.

“Daniel was a jokester who made everyone he worked with happy, and they all loved him so much,” she wrote.

Cofield said her son was always willing to lend a helping hand.

“I will always miss my Daniel’s big beautiful smile and his laugh. My son had the most gorgeous hazel brown eyes that everyone loved,” she wrote.
