Stranger Found Driving Missing Texas Woman’s Car, Family Says She Needs Her Medication

A suspect in the case of a Texas woman who vanished last month may be linked to two other disappearances.

Karen Miles, 61, reportedly vanished on August 21 and was last seen at her home in Missouri City. Three days before authorities were alerted to her disappearance, Pearland police arrested Devante Clark, 28, who was driving in Miles’ car with license plates stolen from Arkansas, according to KTRK.

The Defender reported that a lead led Missouri City police to a deeply wooded area on Tuesday. There, they reportedly found skeletal remains which have not yet been confirmed as Miles.

Miles was reported missing on August 29, days after she was last seen. Missouri City police said in an arrest warrant that Clark is suspected of two other crimes in which the victims remain unaccounted for.

“The (email) stated the agency had two investigations dated Oct. 24, 2023, and Oct. 26, 2023, where a subject with the same name (Devante Clark) and same address was a person of interest in a pair of stolen vehicles cases where the victims were never located,” the document detailed.

Clark has not been charged in connection with Miles’ death.

Fort Bend County medical examiners will perform an autopsy which will identify the remains and a cause of death.
