The suspect in the death of a Telemundo reporter may be linked to another murder, according to police.
Danette Colbert, 45, may be connected to a separate homicide in New Orleans, according to Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley.
“We suspect that the investigation will lead to her being involved in another death case in the city of New Orleans back in December,” Chief Conley told Fox News Digital. “We are working with the New Orleans Police Department, state police, and the attorney general’s office to gather as much information as we can before we come to any conclusions because, in cases like this, you have to investigate; you can’t just speculate.”
As previously reported by CrimeOnline, Adan Manzano, 27, was found unresponsive on Wednesday in his hotel room in Kenner, Louisiana. Manzano was in town to report on the Super Bowl for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports. He was discovered during a welfare check after he failed to show up for a morning appointment.
Hotel security footage captured Manzano with a Slidell woman named Danette Colbert on Wednesday morning. The video shows Colbert leaving his room alone later that morning. After departing the hotel, Colbert was seen using Manzano’s credit cards throughout the New Orleans area.
Colbert has a history of multiple arrests. “She has a long history of bringing men into her confidence. The men become incapacitated by some manner, at which time they lose all their money and property. By the time they wake up or regain consciousness, they find themselves in an awful fix,” Conley explained.
This is an ongoing investigation. Police expect to have more information following Manzano’s autopsy.
