Food Network star Darnell Ferguson, known for hosting “Superchef Grudge Match,” was apprehended Tuesday in Kentucky on a warrant linked to a domestic violence incident, police said.
On Wednesday, St. Matthews police issued a statement outlining the charges against Ferguson, which include felony burglary and strangulation, along with misdemeanor charges of assault, terroristic threatening, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft of a stolen debit or credit card.
According to reports by WAVE News, an emergency protective order against Ferguson alleged that he unlawfully entered a woman’s residence, choked her, and made threats to end her life. He also allegedly yelled at her for not returning calls, then punched holes in a wall and broke a door.

Previous court documents indicate that Ferguson was told in August to have “limited contact” with the victim.
The Courier-Journal reports that Ferguson pleaded not guilty Wednesday during an arraignment and has since been released from jail on a $10,000 bond. His next hearing has been scheduled for January 18.
