And now, their deadly is a heart-pounding, action-packed Netflix hit.
Produced by Law&Crime Productions, “Jailbreak: Love on the Run” is an addictive documentary that examines the fateful love between Vicky White, a once-respected Lauderdale County assistant director of corrections, and Casey White, who in May 2022 was an inmate awaiting trial for murder. Together, the two concocted a plan to get Casey White out of jail, escape, and go on the run — ultimately sacrificing everything together, all in the name of love.
Never-before-heard jail calls, obtained exclusively by Law&Crime, uncover the compelling tale of an impressionable, 56-year-old woman looking for a partner — and a 38-year-old man who was looking to get out of jail.

Vicky White, 56, has been described as reliable, solid, and trustworthy. The 5-foot-5-inch blond Assistant Director of Corrections for the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office worked at the jail for 17 years.
Vicky was the person you would go to if you needed help — or a problem to be solved — and she was well-respected among her colleagues.
Her friends didn’t know too much about her love life, besides the fact that she said she was dating a younger man. That man ended up being Casey White.

Casey White, 38, was serving a 75-year sentence for a violent crime spree when he met Vicky. The 6-foot-9-inch, tattoo-covered man had a lengthy criminal history.
In 2015, Casey was involved in a home invasion, two carjackings and several shootings, which landed him that 75-year sentence. While incarcerated, he confessed to the 2015 fatal stabbing of Connie Ridgeway, and prosecutors charged him with capital murder.
Their Love Story

More than 1,000 exclusive and steamy jailhouse calls and handwritten letters between Casey and Vicky paint a picture of intense chemistry — or some would say control — the two had for and over one another.
“You’re my queen, you’re my everything,” Casey can be heard saying in one call.
“I wish I could kiss you right now, real bad,” Vicky would tell her locked-up lover.
Casey tried to walk back his murder-for-hire confession, but was transferred to the Lauderdale County jail to stand trial. That’s where he locked eyes with Vicky, and their relationship grew from there.
Inmates at the jail later told investigators Vicky gave Casey special treatment, like extra food or more resources, that other inmates at the jail wouldn’t get. Some inmates reported seeing Casey pass Vicky letters that weren’t addressed or stamped with postage. Ultimately, as detectives would find out, those letters weren’t written for someone on the outside, but rather for Vicky, who was on the inside.
The feelings between Vicky and Casey quickly turned into a forbidden affair, and they started to plot Casey’s escape from jail — and their own happily ever after.
The Escape

On April 29, 2022 — the agreed-upon date the fated couple decided to make a run for it — Vicky told her supervisors that she needed to transfer Casey out of jail to an appointment for a “mental health evaluation.”
That appointment, however, was fake.
Surveillance footage shows Vicky leading Casey to a squad car. Casey gets in the back seat. Vicky hops in the front seat and the two drive off.
What happens over the next 11 days is nothing less than a whirlwind involving a nationwide manhunt, getaway cars, thrilling chases, crashed cars, decoys, disguises — and, ultimately, the last and final chapter of their love story.
