Six young women described by a witness as looking 'like teenagers' and one male have been arrested after a stolen Porsche crashed in one of Australia's wealthiest suburbs

Six young women described by a witness as looking ‘like teenagers’ and one male have been arrested after a stolen Porsche crashed in one of Australia’s wealthiest suburbs.

Police were called at 4.40am to a home in Lalchere St, Curl Curl on Sydney’s northern beaches following reports of a break-in.

On arrival they were told that a Porsche Cayenne SUV had been stolen.

‘A short time later, officers patrolling at Balgowlah located and attempted to stop the vehicle (but) it failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated,’ a police spokesperson said.

The SUV then crashed into a concrete barrier on Spit Road in Mosman, which is home to some of Australia’s wealthiest people.

A witness told 2GB’s Ben Fordham that when he drove past shortly after the crash, ‘it looked like they were all girls sitting in the gutter, handcuffed… young girls’.

The police spokesperson said no one was injured in the crash, but that ‘Six females and one male, ages unknown, have been arrested and taken to Manly and Chatswood police stations’.

One witness, Adam, said ‘The Porsche was sort of turned on the middle lane and it looked like it was sort of stationary there…

‘It looked like it has spun around, like they’d lost control or something. There were four police cars there, blocking both lanes.’

He said the young women looked like ‘teenagers’.

‘It seemed a bit strange, just driving past and seeing a bunch of girls in the gutter.’

Two out of three southbound lanes on Spit Road, which links Sydney’s north shore to the northern beaches, were closed after the crash.

The car has since been removed and the road fully reopened.

Photos from the scene show the Porsche’s airbags were triggered, and the front right wheel arch and bumper were damaged.

Locals in Balgowlah reported being woken up by the sound of police sirens at around 4.50am.
