A South Carolina attorney is behind bars after police say he exploited children.

Sourh Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office announced the arrest of Aiken attorney William Daniel Mayes, 54, on seven charges related to child exploitation.

Police arrested Mayes on October 29, after rhe Aiken County Sheriff’s Office received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Investigators discovered that Mayes recorded someone without consent and allegedly had child sexual abuse material in his posession.

On Friday, the South Carolina Supreme Court  suspended his law license after his arrest.

Deputies searched a Dropbox account Mayes reportedly claimed as his own, uncovering four videos. One video depicted a teenage girl, between 12 and 14 years old, dressing, according to the October 29 arrest warrant, the Aiken Standard reports.

Another video allegedly showed  a girl, estimated to be between eight and 10 years old, completely nude. Then, another video showed a teenage girl, believed to be aged 12 to 14, without a shirt on.

Another video captured a man kneeling over a teenage girl, also estimated to be between 12 and 14, and Sullivan suggested that this clip showed evidence of sexual activity.

On October 29, deputies searched Mayes’s  home and found an external hard drive in a bedroom containing a video of a teenage girl, estimated to be 12 to 14, getting dressed.
