‘Rust’ Movie Crew Members Claim ‘Blast Injuries’ and PTSD in Lawsuit Against Alec Baldwin

Three “Rust” movie crew members have filed suit against actor Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers for injuries they claim to have suffered when Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal in 2021.

Baldwin and set armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed have been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting, which also wounded director Joel Souza, as CrimeOnline has previously reported. Assistant Director David Halls, who gave the gun to Baldwin declaring it safe, is pleading no contest to a misdemeanor and is expected to testify against them. The investigation into the shooting, which produced a 500+ page report, failed to identify who loaded live ammunition into the gun Baldwin handled on set.

The latest lawsuit was filed by dolly operator Ross Addiego, costumer Doran Curtin, and key grip Reese Price, according to Variety.

The lawsuit claims all three suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and suffered “blast injuries” from the sound of the gunshot.

The shooting has prompted a host of lawsuit, including one from Hutchins’ husband, Matt Hutchins, which was settled last year for an undisclosed amount. Matt Hutchins was named an executive producer of the film, which is expected to resume filming this spring.
