Pennsy Woman Shoots Parents in the Head, Dismembers Them With Electric Chainsaw: DA

New details emerged Thursday in connection with a Pennsylvania woman accused of killing her elderly parents and dismembering their bodies in Montgomery County.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police conducted a wellness check on the couple’s Abington Township home Tuesday night and found 73-year-old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam Beck dead inside. Officers found the couple’s daughter, Verity Beck, inside the home. She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder.

Both died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and their bodies were found in “different stages of dismemberment,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said.

After a court hearing Wednesday, Steele told reporters that the defendant is accused of using a chainsaw to dismember the victims after shooting them.

“These were not easy autopsies to conduct based upon the fact Verity used this chainsaw and then had put parts of her parents into trash bags and had covered them up, and they were actually in two different trash cans,” Steele said, according to Fox News Digital.

Steele added that although a motive hasn’t been determined, it appeared as if someone attempted to break into a safe inside the victims’ home.

“We did find evidence in the house of a safe that had been attempted to be broken into and we also believe this happened over a period of some time,” he said.

Verity Beck was booked into the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and is not eligible for bail.
