Stelio Kalkounos

The owner of a popular Wisconsin restaurant, who was previously convicted of traveling to meet a minor for sex, has been arrested for more child sex crimes, prosecutors said.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, 51-year-old Stelio Kalkounos was arrested May 15 at a hotel in Hollywood, Florida, on federal child sex crimes. CBS 58 reports that Kalkounos is the managing partner and owner of the Five O’Clock Steakhouse in Milwaukee.

A grand jury indictment was unsealed Thursday, showing he was charged with sex trafficking a minor and producing child pornography. The release stated that Kalkounos recruited a minor, knowing the child would be made to engage in commercial sex acts, from July 16, 2023, to March 1, 2024.

The indictment also stated that on November 20, 2023, Kalkounos used a minor to create child pornography.

Local10.com states that according to federal court documents, in 2006, Kalkounos pleaded guilty to and was given a 46-month sentence for a federal charge of traveling in interstate commerce to engage in a sexual act with a minor. He was required to register as a sex offender.

With the latest charges, authorities said Kalkounos could spend the rest of his life in federal prison if given the maximum sentence.

He’s set to remain held in the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach until his extradition to Wisconsin, where he’ll be tried in Madison federal court.
