A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a 35-year-old woman crossing the street in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
Investigators said the incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. at North Broad and Somerset Streets, WPVI reported.
According to a witness, the woman was crossing North Broad when she was hit by a white sedan traveling in the northbound lanes.
Police are asking area businesses to review exterior surveillance footage. They also say it appears that part of the car’s undercarriage fell off as the drive sped away.

The victim’s name has not been released.
