A break-in occurred at the home of slain Detroit neurosurgeon Devon Hoover Saturday night, just hours before friends and family gathered for the respected doctor’s funeral.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Hoover, 53, was found shot multiple times in the head and wrapped in a sheet, his body stuffed into an attic crawl space, on April 23 after family members requested a welfare check when he failed to appear at a family gathering.
His car was found abandoned at a separate location, police said, but they have not provided that location.
Late last week, police said they had taken a “person of interest” into custody for questioning. They have not named the person or called them a suspect, WDIV reported. Detroit Police Chief James White said only that detectives were “confident that the person has information on what transpired.”
Police say there were no signs of forced entry at Hoover’s Boston Boulevard mansion, leading them to believe he knew his killer.

Police said they can’t say for certain what, if anything, was taken during the break-in, and they have no suspects.
