A childcare worker has been charged with allegedly molesting a young child in his care.
Dozens of parents were sent a shocking letter on Tuesday outlining the allegations after the 22-year-old man was arrested.
The letter explained the centre in Perth’s inner suburbs was notified about the alleged crime by police last Thursday.
‘From this contact, the police requested that the matter remain confidential pending their investigation, occurring over the long weekend,’ it read.

‘The police advised… late in the evening on Monday, April 10, that an employee is involved in the investigation.
‘The educator is not on-premises and will not return until the police matter is resolved.’
The centre said the letter was sent out to ‘dispel any rumours pending the ongoing police investigation’.
The worker, from Victoria Park in Perth’s inner-southeast, was arrested on Monday and charged with indecently dealing with a child under 13.
Parents were called to a ‘support session’ with police on Wednesday night to discuss the allegations.
The letter included a pamphlet of ‘protective behaviours’ to aid in talking to their children.
The childcare worker was given bail and will face Perth Magistrates Court next month.
