A Pennsylvania therapist has been accused of indecently assaulting three children, one of them during a session at his office.

Cumberland Township Police said in the charges against 55-year-old David Mitchell that two of the girls were assaulted at his Gettysburg home during a play date, WHTM reported.

He is accused of inappropriately touching all three girls.

He has been charged with three counts of indecently assaulting a person under 13, three counts of indecently assaulting a person without consent, and three counts of corruption of minors.

A probable cause affidavit filed last week said the arrest stemmed from a January referral from Adams County Children and Youth Services, according to the Hanover Evening Sun. The referral said a 7-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl alleged they were assaulted at Mitchell’s house  last all while on a play date. Mitchell is alleged to have “touched 9the 7-year-old) inappropriately while he was holding her up to get onto a zipline on their property.”

The document says Mitchell put his hands undernear the victim’s shirt and his other hand down her pants on top of her underwear.

The 5-year-old reported a similar incident while on a play date in September 2024. She said Mitchell “touched her in her crotch area” while she was playing.

The third incident was uncovered while investigators were investigating the initial allegations. In that case, a 9-year-old girl was at a therapy session at Mitchell’s office and was playing with clay when Mitchell “came up behind her” and “put his hands down her shirt, massaging her.”

The document says Mitchell massaged the girl’s “shoulder area and upper breast area.”

According to the Evening Sun, Mitchell originally came to Pennsylvania from Kentucky.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23, WHTM said.
