‘Paranoid Conspiracy Theorist’ Beat Dad to Death for Getting a Vaccine

A Florida man is facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly beating his father to death on Sunday.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Brian McGann Sr. was found dead of blunt force trauma at his Lake Worth Beach home after a family friend called 911. The caller described the victim’s son, Brian McGann Jr., 44, as a “delusional conspiracy theorist” who was upset with his father for getting a vaccine.

McGann Jr. was reportedly found hiding near his slain father’s home. WCHS reported that police tracked him down by following a blood trail from a rear window to a neighbor’s fence that he jumped over.

McGann Jr. allegedly had blood on his hands, feet, and clothes. His hands were also swollen, according to WCHS.

The 911 caller claimed McGann Jr. had recently started using cocaine and he appeared to be intoxicated and paranoid. She said she overheard McGann Jr. screaming at his father and asking him for the combination to his safe.

At some point, the caller allegedly heard McGann Sr. yell, “Stop you are killing me.” Upon asking about McGann Sr.’s safety, his son replied, “He is under my foot,” per the Palm Beach Post.

McGann Jr., who appeared in court on Tuesday, remains jailed without bond as he faces first-degree murder charges.
