Redfern Region Enforcement Squad Commander Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Bell said drug use and distribution was an issue for society as a whole.
Detective Chief Inspector Bell vowed to put Sydneysiders who allegedly engage in drug supply before the courts.
‘We are proud of our efforts and we are deeply concerned about the insatiable demand for cocaine,’ he said.
Detective Chief Inspector Bell said Operation Northrop is not only targeting alleged suppliers but also members of the community who are caught seeking out drug suppliers or in possession of substances.
By arresting drug controllers, police gain access to their phones and are able to find and contact their customers as they continue to work to track down players operating at the higher levels of supply networks.
‘We are continuing to see more criminal enterprises using the Dial-a-Dealer methodology’ he said.
‘If you are out there, dealing drugs during the holiday season you will be arrested and put before the courts.’
Anyone with information about the supply of prohibited drugs and other criminal activities in their community is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
