Residents reportedly said they never saw a 7-year-old Georgia girl who was reportedly found dead in a closet at an apartment unit last week.
On Wednesday, a judge denied bond for Alondra Hobbs, who allegedly put her daughter in a stroller and into the closet where she was left for up to four months. Speaking with WSB-TV, several residents at the DeKalb County apartment complex said Hobbs claimed her daughter, Alivia Hobbs-Jordan, was with her father.
However, the news outlet spoke to one neighbor who said they saw Hobbs-Jordan two or three times. That neighbor also alleged that Hobbs had mentioned killing herself earlier this year.
It is unclear whether Hobbs-Jordan was alive when her mother put her in the closet. Authorities alleged that the mother eventually vacated the apartment with no intention of returning.
Prior reports indicated that graphic video showed a body in the closet with a purse on top of it and surrounded by debris. The video has not been made available due to its disturbing nature.
Before the body was identified, investigators estimated the deceased girl was between the ages of 2 and 4. An officer wrote that the body had a full head of hair, though her arm and leg were decaying.

WSB-TV reported that, three years prior, Hobbs was charged for scratching her husband and throwing a toolbox at him. She was sentenced to 12 months probation and ordered to undergo parenting classes and anger management.
Hobbs has been charged with felony murder and second-degree cruelty. Despite this, her daughter’s cause of death has not been disclosed.
