Police in North Carolina have arrested a woman whose sister was found dead earlier this week inside the home they shared in Marion.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Marion Police were looking for 34-year-old Casie Lynne McCartha after finding Kristin Rutherford, 27, dead on Tuesday during a welfare check.
Family members had said Rutherford needed extensive in-home care and that her sister was responsible for taking care of her. Police obtained a warrant for McCartha’s arrest on a charge of concealing a death.
Marion police said that McCartha was found at a Best Western Hotel on the east side of Asheville along with her 3-year-old daughter, WYFF reported. She was taken back to McDowell County and booked into jail with a bond just under $10,000.
