A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged killing of a 51-year-old delivery driver, that took place at an Airbnb in Fort Worth on Saturday.

The suspect, Chrisantus Omondi, stands accused of attacking the victim, Scott Edward Jackson, by fatally hitting him with a piece of firewood that the victim had been delivering.

ABC 8 reports that Jackson operated a firewood delivery business alongside his daughter, Kasey De Leon. On the night of the incident, Jackson was delivering firewood to a regular customer on Wendover Drive in Fort Worth.

“If it was his last dollar, he’d give it to you,” Kasey De Leon, Jackson’s daughter, told ABC 8 on Wednesday.

“He’d always do something funny. He would just randomly start dancing or make a joke. I’d be like, ‘Dad, you’re so embarrassing.’ I wish I could just tell him so bad. Embarrass me one more time, annoy me one more time. Just bug me.”

The repeat customer was injured in the incident but spoke to ABC 8 on the condition that his identity remain hidden.

“As we’re loading up the wheelbarrow, this random guy shows up and gets directly in my face and accuses me of being on his property and being in his house,” the customer said. “He was extremely naked.”

After attacking Jackson, Omondi then began attacking the customer, who said he managed to run into his residence, where loved ones called 911.

“When he was pursuing me and attacking me, I was looking death in the face,” the customer added.

A tenant renting another room at the Airbnb told police that the defendant “came running into the house, yelling at her,” and attempted to force his way into her room.

The woman told police she believed Omondi was on drugs at the time.

Police arrested Omondi and he was subsequently charged with murder, aggravated assault against a security officer, and obstruction or retaliation.

He remains behind bars at the Tarrant County Corrections Center on a $300,000 bond. Check back for updates.
