A 39-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter were found dead in a Pennsylvania home by relatives late Thursday evening.
Investigators have released little information, although Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said the two suffered “sharp force injuries.” Police classified both deaths as homicides.
Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck said on Thursday that there was no danger to the public, although he didn’t say why that was the case. On Saturday, he said the case remains under investigation, while Pennsylvania State Police spokesman Trooper Nathan Branosky said no further information would be released over the weekend.
Friends and neighbors told The Morning Call the two were mother and daughter and that the mother, originally from the Philippines, divorced in 2014.
One neighbor said the girl recently had a sweet 16 party.

“I’ve known [the mother] as a larger-than-life person,” Goldi Mari said. “She’s good at singing and dancing.”
By Saturday, a memorial of candles, toys, and flowers grew by the home’s front door.
