More than a year after a mother was shot to death while in bed with her three children, Florida investigators have arrested her on-again, off-again boyfriend and his cousin after apparently unfurling a plot by the two suspects to allegedly kill her and make it look like a home invasion robbery.
Saun Rainge Jr., 32, and Benjamin Garmon, 26, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Porshe Nikita Shanee Streeter, a press release said. Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office began investigating on Jan. 13, 2024, when they found Streeter dead with 10 gunshot wounds and Rainge shot in his shoulder at her apartment.

According to a 36-page probable cause arrest affidavit, Rainge told investigators he was walking inside the apartment to check on Streeter and their three kids, ages 10, 2 and 1, when someone attacked him from behind. He claimed the “home invader” entered the home and opened fire before running away, the affidavit said. Rainge said the man stole $2,000 in cash and three cellphones. After the man fled, the unarmed Rainge allegedly said he waited and then chased after the man. Rainge claimed he chased down the man and was able to wrestle away the stolen cellphones, the affidavit said. He also said he went to his neighbors in search of help, to no avail.
But in the following months, detectives began to pick apart Rainge’s story. People who knew the couple told investigators that the relationship between Rainge and Streeter was “toxic” and they would often break up and get back together again, the affidavit said. They were fighting on the night in question because Rainge took her phone charger and key to her apartment without permission, cops noted. While Rainge would sometimes stay the night, he lived elsewhere, and Streeter’s was the only name on the rental lease, cops said.
Other facts allegedly did not add up. A working surveillance camera showed the front door, but it didn’t capture the incident in question, and investigators believe Rainge deleted that footage. Detectives were also curious as to why the “home invader” was so accurate in shots fired toward Streeter but not so precise while shooting at Rainge, the affidavit said. It also didn’t make sense as to why Rainge would run after the man who just shot them while not armed himself, per cops.
Detectives also uncovered a brewing custody dispute between Rainge and Streeter and the fact that he had recently learned she had been hiding money from him, investigators wrote. He was also allegedly upset about her cheating on him and a text message from her in which she called him a “sissy.”
Surveillance cameras from the apartment complex also showed Rainge and Garmon driving near Streeter’s home on the morning of the murder. Cops believe this was so Rainge could show his co-defendant where Streeter lived. Video also reportedly showed a man wearing a distinct, brightly-colored Ferrari coat fleeing the scene. Social media photos showed Garmon wearing the exact same coat, the affidavit said.
Cops believe Rainge used the key he took to get inside the apartment. He enlisted Garmon to murder Streeter. They then left the apartment, with Streeter likely dead or dying with her children right next to her, before returning and Garmon shooting Rainge and running away to make it look like a robbery home invasion.
“Rainge’s story didn’t ring true for our homicide detectives, who have worked tirelessly on this case for more than a year to secure justice for Porshe,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Cops arrested Rainge and Garmon on Thursday. Rainge’s next court date is set for April 8. It’s unclear when Garmon is next due in court.
