Mom accused of child abuse found shot dead

A New Mexico woman who was recently accused of child abuse was found shot in her home.

Patricia Madrid, 36, was found in her home on Feb. 26 suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a press release from the Farmington Police Department. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Just over one week ago, on Feb. 18, Madrid and Jammy Jackson, 59, were both arrested and charged with child abuse and several other felonies after their 15-year-old daughter claimed that her parents locked her in a chicken coop.
