One of two murder victims found dead Monday morning in Covingon, Louisiana, has been identified as a retired parish priest reported missing the day before.
Otis Young, 71, and another victim were found dead, their bodies burned beyond recognition, behind a downtown business early Monday. Young, who retired in July following several health issues, and his pastoral assistant, Ruth Prats, were reported missing on Sunday, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office announced Young’s identification and said he died from blunt and sharp force trauma, WWL reported.
Young was the former paster of St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, and Prats worked in the church office until she retired to care for the ailing Young.

Covington Police have arrested Antonio Donde Tyson and charged him with two counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping, among other charges. According to WWL, Tyson had been convicted of rape, armed robberty, and burglary in 1993 and sentenced to 40 years in prison. He was released on parole in August.
