Missing Mom’s Body Found Entombed Under Stairs at Boyfriend’s Home

A Maryland man was charged with murdering his missing girlfriend after her body was allegedly discovered in his home on Sunday.

Alexis Schuler, 29, was last seen by her mother on January 10 as she helped Schuler and her three children move. WTTG reported that Schuler eventually left with Devontae Gray, 30, who later called Schuler’s mother and asked about Schuler’s whereabouts.

Authorities believe Gray killed Schuler, who was reported missing last Tuesday, and put her body in a plastic bin that he encased with concrete and cinderblocks. Gray then placed the bin under a stairway and concealed the area with a makeshift wall comprised of lumber, drywall, and faux bricks, according to WJLA.

Prince George’s County police executed a search warrant at Gray’s home on Sunday. Gray denied murdering Schuler at first, but he eventually confessed to killing her during an argument, according to WRC.

“The bin was opened and inside human foot was visible, believed to belong to the Decedent,” the criminal complaint stated. “She was located under [a] large amount of soil and hay.”

Police said that they previously went to the home for domestic violence-related calls.  On January 9, Gray called the police claiming he was fearful and may shoot Schuler if she entered his house.

Gray is charged with first-degree murder. He remains jailed without bond.
