Missing Hawaiian Woman Vanishes at Los Angeles Airport

In Police are seeking tips on a missing Hawaiian woman last seen on security footage at Los Angeles International Airport near a large shopping center, according to her family and law enforcement.

Hannah Kobayashi, 31, was seen on November 11, following her missed connecting flight from Maui to New York City on November 8.

Kobayashi stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds, and has brown hair, brown eyes, and fair skin with freckles. Her family reported her missing to the Los Angeles Police Department on November 12.

Larie Pidgeon, Kobayashi’s aunt, told USA TODAY Sunday that the family received Kobayashi just before she vanished, messages that seemed out of character.

“She mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity,” her aunt said. “She hasn’t been heard from since, and we are gravely concerned for her safety.”

KTLA reports that Pidgeon and relatives traveled to Los Angeles to distribute flyers and actively search for Kobayashi. They’ve also set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of lodging and search efforts.

The family is asking anyone with information on her location to reach out to Pidgeon at 845-750-3006.
