A baby girl has been found dead at a Queensland home, sparking an investigation.

Emergency services rushed to a home in Mermaid Beach, a coastal suburb on the Gold Coast, at about 8am on Monday morning.

The age of the baby is unknown. 

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of death.
