Megan Boswell: Jury Selection Begins for Mother Accused of Killing Tot, Stuffing Her in Shed

Megan Boswell’s murder trial is nearing the end, with the prosecution and defense resting their cases on Wednesday morning.

Before the prosecution and defense delivered their closing arguments and the jury began deliberations, Judge Jim Goodwin instructed the jury and outlined their guidelines inside Tennessee’s Sullivan County courthouse.

Boswell faces numerous charges in connection with the death of her daughter, Evelyn Boswell. The charges include first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and 11 counts of making false reports.

Although she initially faced 20 charges, the state dismissed one count of false reporting on the trial’s first day, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Boswell is accused of stuffing Evelyn’s body in a trash can, which was found hidden inside a play shed on her grandfather’s property. She then allegedly lied to police multiple times, hindering the investigation

“Every time we talk to her, her story changes,” Sheriff Jeff Cassidy of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department said of Boswell in 2020.

“I’m serious when I say every single time.”

Boswell has pleaded not guilty to charges against her. Check back for updates.
