A physician’s wife in Hawaii is fighting back after her husband allegedly tried to kill her.
Arielle Konig, 36, secured a temporary restraining order against her husband, Maui doctor Gerhardt Konig, after he allegedly tried to murder her along a cliffside in Oahu.
In her petition, obtained by CrimeOnline, Arielle described the assault, claiming her husband dragged her toward the cliff’s edge, attempted to inject her with “an unknown substance” using a syringe, and hit her “repeatedly on the head” with a rock.
She claimed her husband grew enraged after she became uncomfortable at his request for her to take a selfie by the cliff’s edge, telling her,”Go back over there, I’m so f—ing sick of you.”
“I quickly realized he was seriously trying to make me fall off the cliff,” she wrote in the petition.
Also in the petition, Arielle alleged Gerhardt sexually abused her for months before the incident. She did not give a specific time frame for the alleged abuse but noted a significant change in their lives in December, and that he began accusing her of having an affair.
Arielle Konig secured a 180-day restraining order. The presiding judge ruled that there is probable cause to believe past acts of abuse have occurred or that threats of abuse suggest imminent acts by Gerhardt Konig.
The court also noted that Gerhardt either owns, intends to obtain, or possesses a firearm or electric gun (such as a stun gun or Taser), which could be used to threaten, injure, or abuse someone.
Meanwhile, police detained Gerhardt, who fled the scene following the attack, and charged him with attempted murder on the same day, People Magazine reports.
He remains behind bars on a $5 million bond. Check back for updates.
