Community Shocked After Police Fatally Shoot Autistic Idaho Teen

Eight people were injured during a mass shooting at a bar in South Philadelphia.

ABC 6 reports that shots were fired shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday at 7 Elements Restaurant, Bar & Lounge. Eight people were injured, with most sustaining minor injuries to their extremities. Two victims were more seriously hurt, including a security guard who suffered a gunshot wound to the face and a woman shot in the back.

“The most serious injuries were to a person working ostensibly as a security guard who was shot in the face and also a woman who was shot in the back. They’re both listed in critical condition,” Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said.

“Others are reported to have been shot in the legs, extremities, arms, etcetera, and are suffering other non-life-threatening gunshot injuries,” NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.

Initially, police were called about a person shot at a bar located on 11th Street, according to Inspector Pace. Upon the officers’ arrival, they found at least three people who had been shot. Those individuals were taken to a hospital. It was later learned that other victims arrived at the hospital on their own, FOX 29 reports.

ABC 6 reported that a total of three women and five men were shot and that all are expected to survive, according to the police.

Police are unsure how many suspects were involved in the shooting. According to NBC, Philadelphia police reported finding shell casings in multiple locations, including the restaurant area of the establishment on the upper floor, the stairway, and the lower level.

This is an ongoing investigation, and law enforcement is reviewing all surveillance footage and witness statements.
