Enrique Padilla sentenced for movie theater murder

A New Mexico man who pleaded no contest to killing a man during an argument over reserved seats at a movie theater has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Enrique Padilla, 21, entered a no contest plea in November 2024 to the second-degree murder of Michael Tenorio, 52, whom he shot and killed on June 25, 2023. On Feb. 12, Padilla faced a judge and Tenorio’s family as he heard his punishment for his crime. KRQE, a local CBS affiliate, reported from the courtroom, where Padilla’s wife — who was involved in the fatal argument — asked for justice for her husband.
