Ali Aboukhodr (Michigan District Court 134).
Cops in Michigan arrested a man after he allegedly put his pregnant wife through “proverbial hell” by torturing her and holding her against her will because she refused to give him her passcodes.
Ali Aboukhodr, 41, is facing charges of domestic violence, torture and unlawful imprisonment, Wayne County prosecutors said during a Thursday arraignment streamed by Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV.
“Judge I gotta say this: In the hundreds if not thousands of cases before this court these set of allegations are some of the worst,” arraignment prosecutor Steve Vincent said, later adding: “The defendant unleashes proverbial hell against this gal.”

Vincent alleged that Aboukhodr “literally tortured” the victim, who is 22 years old, over an 18-hour period starting July 14. He allegedly beat her with a belt, dragged her up stairs causing her head to hit each one, punched her and threw her to the ground. The assault allegedly caused vaginal bleeding.
“Once he saw this, the defendant ended up telling the complaining witness that she didn’t even deserve his child,” Vincent said.
She was eventually able to call her mother, who called police.
Then, on July 21, Aboukhodr allegedly assaulted her again when she tried to leave the home.
“This defendant didn’t appreciate that she wanted to end this relationship so while she’s attempting to leave he strangles her,” Vincent said.
The victim escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house for help, according to Vincent.
Pictures show various bruises and lacerations on the victim, he said.
Defense attorney Hassan Hamade noted his client has no prior criminal record.
“These are just allegations at this point so as gruesome as the case may look or may sound, that’s just the narrative,” he said.
Hamade also noted Aboukhodr had yet to be interviewed by a police detective and the alleged victim has since said that she does not want to pursue charges. Vincent said the victim is in fear for her life.
A judge set bond at $350,000. Aboukhodr remains in the Wayne County Jail, according to sheriff’s office records.
