‘We knew it was coming’: Man charged with murder of ex-girlfriend days after pleading guilty to domestic abuse and getting out of jail

A Minnesota man was indicted in the murder of his ex-girlfriend whose body was found in her bed, wrapped in blankets and a plastic garbage bag, covered in abrasions and bruising, days after he was released from jail for previous assaults against her.

Matthew Scott Brenneman, 39, was charged in the indictment with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder in a domestic-violence-related homicide on July 8 of 33-year-old Danicka Bergeson, prosecutors said in a news release on Friday.
