A 24-year-old man in New York City has been arrested and accused of killing his brother’s family — including two young children — as well as his own mother, allegedly stabbing them to death inside of their Brooklyn apartment.

Shahboz Rajabboev was taken into custody on Sunday and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder in the slayings of his 56-year-old mother Mavlyuda Fayzieva, his 27-year-old sister-in-law Maftuna Khakimova, his 5-year-old niece Kamila Shavkatova, and his 4-year-old nephew Timur Shavkatov.

Relatives of the victims reportedly told New York CBS affiliate WCBS that the children’s father walked into his home on Friday and was the first person to discover the grisly scene.

“He’s just like, ‘I have nothing left. [Rajabboev] took everything. My two kids, my wife, my mother. He took everything,”” the family member reportedly told the news station. “It’s just very tragic, very heartbroken, sad, a lot of grief.”
