A man has been charged with murder after a mother-of-two was stabbed to death at her cottage in a picturesque village.
Kelli Bothwell, 53, was found by first responders on the evening of August 5, at her home in Sprotbrough, near Doncaster, after reports of a ‘dispute’ at the house.
The mother-of-two died a short time later, with police putting the entire village in lockdown in the immediate aftermath.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed Paul Cousans, 52, of Sprotbrough was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 52-year-old was charged yesterday evening.

The mother-of-two was found fatally injured by emergency services on August 5, and died a short time later

Officers said a 52-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder after the incident
It came after at 8pm last Saturday, police were called to reports of a dispute inside a property on Main Street during which the mother-of-two was stabbed.
South Yorkshire Police said: ‘Despite the best efforts of officers and ambulance crews, she sadly died a short time later.
‘A post-mortem has since concluded that Kelli died of a stab wound.’
Cousans is now remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court on Monday.
