A man has been shot outside his home in Sydney’s west and is now fighting for life.

Emergency services were called to the home on Stella Street, in Fairfield Heights, just after 8.30am on Tuesday.

A man was found unresponsive on the footpath and is being treated by paramedics, NSW Police said.

The man was shot in the head, reports claim.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
