A woman was left with a broken neck and spine with just ten percent chance of walking again after a man shoved her into a moving subway car in Manhattan on Sunday.
Emine Ozsoy was walking on a downtown platform at the Lexington Avenue and 63rd Street station at around 6:05 a.m., when a man came up from behind her and pushed her into a departing E train, according to police.
The 35-year-old Turkish immigrant who lives in Jackson Heights, Queens, fell backward onto the platform and suffered severe spinal injuries and lacerations to her head, authorities said. She is hospitalized and in critical condition.
She underwent two lengthy surgeries, according to Nadim Ozsoy, 46, whose cousin used to be married to the victim, according to the Daily News, and has been given a 10 percent chance to ever walk again.
The victim was transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center after the attack, according to the cops. She was initially reported to be in stable condition upon arriving at the hospital, but police later updated her condition to critical.

The attacker fled the scene on foot, heading toward the Second Avenue exit, and is now being sought after by police.
As of Monday afternoon, the suspect is still at large.
Police describe the suspect as a male between 30 to 40 years old and roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall.
The surveillance photos, released by police Sunday night, show the alleged attacker wearing a black shirt with a white rim, blue jeans and white sneakers. The photos show the man holding what appears to be a cup of coffee while standing on the platform.
The motive for the attack is unclear. It is not clear whether any words were exchanged or if the victim saw the attacker.
New York City’s subway crime rose by 30% in 2022 and continues to be on the rise. Mayor Eric Adams has increased transit police presence, spending $20 million more per month on overtime costs since January, according to Bloomberg.
Last summer, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was struck multiple times by man wielding a wrench in Manhattan, leaving victim badly-injured.
