Police in Maine say they have arrested four juvenile — one of them 12 years old — and an adult in connection with an incident earlier this month in which a 13-year-old boy was assaulted, held prisoner in a camper, and had property stolen from him.
The victim and other witnesses told the Wilton Police Department that the boy was visiting a residence in the Wilton Mobile Home Park when he was attacked by eight juveniles and an adult. Police obtained a search warrant for the property and recovered items stolen from the boy.
The police department announced on Monday that it had arrested 23-year-old Ty Looney and four juveniles, ages 12, 14, 15, and 16. The children were transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center.
All five have been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, theft, and criminal restraint. Looney received an additional charge of violation of condition of release.
The police department said the four juveniles have multiple charges against them in Franklin County alone, and “likely” outside the county.
The department said the “incident remains under investigation” but did not say why only four of the eight juveniles in the initial complain were arrested.
