Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias was arrested on Sunday for felony domestic violence, according to TMZ.
Urias was released after paying a bond of $50,000 in the early hours of Monday night. The publication says he spent four hours behind bars.
He now apparently has a court date scheduled for later in September. In 2019, Urias was arrested for domestic battery after an alleged incident in Beverly Hills and while he was not charged with a crime, he was suspended for 20 games by MLB.
‘We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías,’ the Dodgers said in a statement. ‘While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time
Urias, from Mexico, signed a one-year, $14.25million deal with the Dodgers for the 2023 season.

He won the World Series with the team in 2020 and has played for the Dodgers from 2016 up to now.
The 27-year-old last pitched for Dodgers on Friday, September 1 in the 6-3 loss to Atlanta Braves and struggled to make an impact – allowing five runs over five innings against one of MLB’s standout teams.
‘Obviously I didn’t pitch the way that I wanted to pitch,’ he said. ‘I gave it all my all, but I failed and now I just have to pitch better the next time out.’
The Dodgers play next on Tuesday night, the first of a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Urias last Friday: ‘Julio wasn’t sharp. There were a lot of pitches middle-middle. There wasn’t a whole lot of chase or swing-and-miss.
‘Obviously these guys can hit it out of the ballpark. If you make a mistake, that’s what’s going to happen.’
The Dodgers are the runaway leader in the NL West with an 84-52 record.
