police tape

A Long Island man has been charged with two counts of murder after he allegedly stabbed his wife and toddler daughter to death on Sunday.

Suffolk County police responded to the home in Brentwood at about 5 p.m., WCBS reported.

They found Misbah Batool, 33, and 2-year-old Iazia Zanoor with stab wounds and rushed them to South Shore University Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, WPIX said.

The husband, 31-year-old Zanoor Jaffari, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for an evaluation before he was booked. He is expected in court on Monday.

It’s not clear what led to the attack.
