Lawsuit Accuses Garth Brooks of Sexually Assaulting Long-Time Make-Up Artist

A bombshell lawsuit in Los Angeles accuses Garth Brooks of brutally sexually assaulting a make-up artist and stylist to the country superstar and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, just weeks after Brooks himself filed a preemptory lawsuit in Mississippi to try to halt what he called a “fabricated lawsuit.”

The Los Angeles lawsuit, filed on behalf of a Jane Roe, accuses Brooks of “painful and traumatic, rape, battery, and other assaults, Deadline reported.

“Brooks seized what he saw as an opportunity to subject a female employee to a side of Brooks that he conceals from the public,” complaint says. “This side of Brooks believes he is entitled to sexual gratification when he wants it, and using a female employee to get it, is fair game.”

The suit references the lawsuit filed in Mississippi by the Grammy winning artist as John Doe, claiming that if the allegations in Roe’s lawsuit become public, it would do “substantial, irreparable damage” to his reputation and livelihood.

Roe’s lawsuit calls that suit “the Abusive Mississippi Action” and says it is “a blatant attempt to further control and bully his sexual assault victim by utilizing his multi=millionaire resources to game the legal system.”

“Brooks is desperate to prevent his millions of fans from learning about the horrific things he has said and done to a junior female employee who did nothing to deserve such treatment,” the filing says. “But our legal system is not in place to allow wealthy wrongdoers the ability to run work-arounds on sexual assault victims who attempt to hold perpetrators accountable.”

The complaint includes graphic accounts of Roe’s allegations against Brooks, mentioning some that it says are too horrid “to mention here.”

According to CNN, Brooks had previously denied the allegations.

The lawsuit says that Roe was initially hired to do hair and makeup for Yearwood in 1999 and then began handling similar services for Brooks in 2017. The alleged assaults came two years later.

In the Mississippi lawsuit, Brooks as Doe  says that he received a “confidential” letter alleging  sexual assault after he declined to make her a salaried employee with medical benefits.

Last month, Brooks announced the end of his long residency in Las Vegas, Garth Brooks/Plus One at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, USA Today reported. The shows are set to end next March.
