‘King of the Hill’ Voice Actor Is Fatally Shot By Neighbor

“King of the Hill” voice actor Jonathan Joss was reportedly shot and killed in Texas on Sunday.

Joss, 59, who voiced John Redcorn on the animated sitcom, died after San Antonio police discovered him with multiple gunshot wounds. KENS reported that suspect Sigfredo Alvarez, 56, was apprehended a block from the crime scene.

Residents told the news outlet that Joss lived in the neighborhood for a while, but his home burned down months earlier. They claimed he would return to get his mail.

The residents also alleged that he had an ongoing feud with Alvarez — which entailed the pair facing off with weapons. Joss was often seen carrying a crossbow, they told KENS.

Shortly after the fire, Joss told the San Antonio Express-News that he walked out of his burning home carrying one of his deceased dogs. He claimed at least one neighbor was laughing at him, though he did not provide a name.

Joss’ home reportedly burned down after he used a BBQ pit for heating because the city deemed his home uninhabitable and shut off the power. Sunday’s shooting occurred after Joss had returned to the San Antonio property to pick up a victim’s fire fund check, according to TMZ.

In addition to “King of the Hill,” Joss also had a recurring role on “Parks and Recreation.” Alvarez remains jailed on $200,000 bond.
