Kentucky Couple Indicted on Child Sex Crime Charges

A Kentucky couple has been charged with sex crimes against a victim under the age of 12 and ordered held on $75,000 bonds.

Kevin John Taylor, 43, and Michelle Taylor, 38, were arrested on Tuesday by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, and a grand jury indictment followed the next day, WAVE reported.

Arrest warrants reveal that an employee of John Taylor’s business handed over his work phone to Michelle Taylor on March 11, telling her that her husband had child pornography images on the phone. Police say the wife and the employee communicated by text about the images, but Michelle Taylor did not report the incident police and instead simply gave the phone back to her husband.

A detective spoke with her on March 12 about the phone, at which time she reported she no longer had the phone and had given it back to her husband. The detective interviewed the child victim, who said that John Taylor had raped her on multiple occasions.

John Taylor has been charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, two counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of tampering with evidence. Michelle Taylor is charged with one count each of tampering with evidence, failing to report child abuse, and distribution of child porn.

The couple was arraigned on Wednesday and are due back in court on Monday.
