Kelly Allen: Nursing Student Vanishes After Successful Job Interview

Kelly Allen was visiting a friend in March 2007. She was 20 years old, working as a nursing home caregiver while studying nursing, and she’d already spent a week with her friend.

On March 13, she went to a job interview — and had already scheduled a second interview for March 16 before she left.

She chatted on the phone with the friend and made plans for the afternoon. But when the friend got home that afternoon, Kelly wasn’t there. Her personal items — including a $2,000 tax refund check — were.

Kelly missed her job interview three days later, and her mother, Tracy Allen, said that’s when she knew without a shadow of a doubt something was wrong.

“She had a follow-up interview, and she didn’t make it to that follow-up interview, so that led us with alarms going off,” Tracey Allen told KMOV, according to Newsbreak.

Tracy reported her daughter missing to both the Berkeley, Missouri, Police Department — where she’d been visiting — and the St. Louis Police Department. Police say the case is still active, although there are no new leads beyond a photograph her cousin captured in 2017, when he thought he saw Kelly on a train. Investigators have not been able to positively identify the woman in the photo as Kelly.

Kelly Allen was 5’4″ and weighed 165 pounds when she vanished. Allen has two tattoos, one on her shoulder of two eyes and a rose, and the other behind her right ear of a half-moon.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Louis Police at 314-444-5338.
