Former “Family Feud” contestant, Timothy Bliefnick, has been found guilty by an Illinois jury for the murder of his estranged wife.
Fox News Digital reports that Bliefnick was convicted of murder and related charges in connection with the killing of Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, who was found dead inside her home on February 23, after she failed to pick her children up from the St. Peter School in Quincy.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, police arrested her husband, Tim Bliefnick, 39, 12 days after police searched his home amid the homicide investigation.
At the time, Bliefnick lived around a mile away from Rebecca; they were going through a divorce when Bliefnick broke into a window in her home and shot her 14 times. According to court documents, the defendant rode a bicycle to Rebecca’s residence before murdering her.
Prosecutors said that prior to the murder, Bliefnick researched online on different ways to kill someone.
USA Today reports that Rebecca had taken out a restraining order on her estranged husband in 2021. A divorce hearing was scheduled to begin a week after her death.
During the trial, the victim’s sister, Sarah Reilly, testified that Rebecca had expressed concerns about Bliefnick potentially causing her physical harm.
“If something ever happens to me, make sure the number one person of interest is Tim,” Rebecca said in a 2021 text sent to her sister.

“I am putting this in writing that I’m fearful he will somehow harm me, come after me, or will try to [do] something to me that takes me away from the kids or the kids away from me. He already has lied multiple times to paint himself as a victim and me as the perpetrator when it is absolutely the other way around.”
Bliefnick appeared as a contestant on “Family Feud” in 2020 and joked about marriage regrets when asked about the biggest mistake during his wedding.
Host Steve Harvey: “What’s your biggest mistake you made at your wedding?”
Bliefnick: “Said I do… Not my mistake, not my mistake − I love my wife. I’m gonna get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”
Sentencing for Bliefnick is scheduled for August 11.
