Prosecutors in Texas asked for a $1 million bond on Monday for a Jan. 6 rioter who was arrested for online solicitation of a minor after being pardoned by President Donald Trump last month. The rioter’s lawyer called the request “absurd” and reportedly managed to convince the judge overseeing his case to drop the amount down to $25,000.

“We simply do not tolerate exploitation of children, particularly sexual exploitation of children,” said Harris County Assistant District Attorney Stephen Driver while requesting the seven-figure bond in court Monday, according to local CBS affiliate KHOU. “We want to protect the children at all costs,” Driver said. “It is a high calling, it’s a difficult calling.”
