A mother-of-two in her 30s who was found murdered in her Yorkshire home had been at the centre of a ‘love triangle’, according to neighbours.
Police were called to the home of Jessica Edmunds in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, on Monday after being alerted by the ambulance service that they had found a body.
A man, aged 47, and a woman, 49, were detained on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
Neighbours were still standing in the street in shock today as the police cordon was finally lifted around the home of Ms Edmunds.
They said it was a still a mystery what had happened inside the terraced house where Jessica, known as Jess, was found dead on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

‘All we do know is that the man Jess was living with was the former partner of the woman arrested,’ one local said.
‘The woman used to run a local shop around here but doesn’t any more. It was her ex that Jess was with. So may be there was some kind of love feud.’
Another mother said: ‘All we can say is Jess’s life was being made a misery by a bunny boiler and people are hurting about what what happened. I can’t believe it.’
According to some residents on the street, the dispute between the two women had led to Ms Edmunds ‘receiving death threats’.
Many residents had been out enjoying the bank holiday when they returned home in the afternoon to find their street had been sealed off.

The house Ms Edmunds shared with her two young children and partner remained under cordon until late Tuesday while a painstaking forensic examination was carried out.
There were angry scenes involving women standing in the street when a woman, believed to be the female arrested, was returned to her house by police.
Officers were seen apparently standing guard outside the property as bystanders shouted insults towards the house.

Ms Edmunds’s next door neighbour said she was also devastated.
She had only recently moved into the street – the Bridleway in the Rawmarsh area of Rotherham – and said Jess had been one of the first to welcome her.
The 28-year-old neighbour, who would only give her first name, Mel, said: ‘She was really lovely. She was so sweet with me every time I knocked the door.
‘Whenever I saw her she always found time to say hello and pat my dog. She always made a fuss over the dog and was really lovely.
‘She made me feel really welcome in the neighbourhood. We were really friendly but not so she would open up to me so I must admit I did not know what was really going on with her.’
Ms Edmunds had two school age children, a girl believed to be ten or under and a slightly older brother. She appeared to be a full-time mother, locals said.
Another neighbour said: ‘We were not in at all yesterday so we did not know anything about it. She has been here as long as we have been here so it is a real shock.
‘We went out for the day and came back to find all the street was shut off.’
