A Jan. 6 rioter who bragged that he ‘beat the s––– out of a police officer’ at the U.S. Capitol texting and told friends and family that a “violent mass uprising” was needed to keep “tyrants” and “Socialists” from taking power is getting out of prison after serving his time.

Brian Christopher Mock, 45, of Minnesota, learned about his turn of fate on Friday during a resentencing hearing by Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg. Mock was initially sentenced in February to 33 months in prison, 24 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay $2,710 in restitution and fines, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
