A Jan. 6 defendant and the stepson of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Sigalit “Siggy” Flicker will be allowed to travel to the Hamptons while awaiting trial.
Tyler Campanella was granted the request to modify the conditions of his release at his arraignment and status conference on Wednesday, the court docket said. The request was made during a status conference on Tuesday, according to the docket entry, and the purpose for his Hamptons travel was not clear from the judge’s order.
Campanella pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct and demonstrating in a Capitol building. A status conference was set for Sept. 17. He remains released on his own personal recognizance.
Campanella was arrested in April. According to the statement of facts outlining the allegations, he entered the Capitol at 2:17 p.m., shortly after the building was first breached that day. Inside, he allegedly sat on the base of a statue in the Capitol Crypt, walked around the Rotunda, walked into the Senate Gallery for about a minute and left through the Rotunda doors at 2:52 p.m.
An exhibit appears to show a screenshot of a post from Flicker’s Instagram account, court documents said. The post includes images of what appears to be both outside and inside of the Capitol on Jan. 6 and appears to indicate that Campanella is at the Capitol, according to the statement of facts.
“I love patriots so much. Stay safe Tyler. We love you,” read the post, court documents said.
Campanella was caught after a witness, described in court documents as someone who had known Campanella for years before Jan. 6 and had maintained regular contact with him, identified him to FBI agents as being at the Capitol, court documents said.
Campanella is seen in photos wearing a blue baseball hat with “TRUMP” and “2020” in white lettering and words in red between the two, court documents said. Campanella can be seen in a red scarf that, in one image, he holds up to cover his nose and mouth, court documents said.
The witness allegedly said Campanella went into the Capitol on Jan. 6, took pictures and video, and deleted all of the pictures from his social media accounts.
Campanella’s defense attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Law&Crime.
In the 42 months since Jan. 6, more than 1,472 defendants have been charged in cases related to the violence, authorities said.
Flicker was on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Her Instagram page says she’s an “Israeli/American Patriot!TVPersonality/Speaker/Author” and “#MAGA.”
